“City Lights”; Magic Of Charlie Chaplin

When you watch this black and white silent movie of Charlie Chaplin, you realize the power of good cinema. The movie was made in 1931 but still manages to move you without dialogues.

I have not seen many of Charlie Chaplin movies and even though I have seen snippets of his comic sequences, I was watching the full length feature film for the first time. So this emotional drama came as a surprise to me. His character is very funny but at the same time the story of a tramp and blind girl can take you on an emotional ride.

Best scene is of course where the girl recognizes him after gaining back her sight through touch and Chaplin’s reluctance to tell her anything on his own.
